20 YEARS OF TAVENERS

1988

Where it all began

"Towards the end of 1988 a small group of boaters, some of whom were Kennet & Avon Canal Trust members, used to go to the Canal Tavern, Bradford on Avon for a quiet Sunday lunchtime pint (6X of course). "

This year we began our association with the British Legion Convalescent Home at Weston super Mare. Those folk from the home would join us for a boat trip, a visit to the "Canal Tavern" and a meal aboard members boats. Thus began an annual occasion which always gave great pleasure to both Club members and guests and enabled us to meet some wonderful and interesting people
